This is the rebranding and publication design for the 99th edition of Ivy Leaves Journal, the official “student-led, student-read” creative publication of Anderson University (SC) that features original student art and literary works. This semester-long project was a collaborative effort with Knoxie le Roux.




About

The objective of this project was to create a fresh brand identity for the Ivy Leaves Journal of Literature + Art to appear in the printed publication and on various physical touchpoints in order to promote the journal on campus. On the brink of the next century of Ivy Leaves, the 99th edition of the journal presented the design team with a unique opportunity to explore conceptual ties to both history and the future.
The new direction was inspired by both the commemoration of Ivy Leaves history and the anticipation of another century of the journal. In order to materialize this, the new branding for the 99th edition features visuals that allude to both analog and digital elements: a shade of blue reminiscent of cyberspace, a monospaced typeface, hand-stamped elements, and many other textural details.
